Blog 1 :Digital Photography- Patterns in the Environment

Repetition is an important element in art. It conveys the artist's ideas and feelings by repeating forms, colors, lines, patterns, etc. As an early childhood educator, I believe that exposing children to repetition as an art form helps children build foundational cognitive skills.

Repetition

The two photos I took on April 7 document the beautiful moments and scenes experienced while enjoying the sunset from the 22nd floor balcony of Yonge Sheppard. The way the light reflects between the two buildings and the consistency of the windows, as well as the shadows of the evening sun and the beautiful orange and pink light, create a sense of harmony and comfort. These photographs capture a moment of stillness and beauty in a busy and bustling urban environment. The repetition of the windows and the reflection of one building in another creates a sense of order and symmetry, while the warm light of the setting sun adds a touch of softness and warmth to the scene. I took these two photographs to convey the beauty that can be found in everyday moments, the importance of taking a moment out of our busy city lives to stop and appreciate the world around us.
